Josef Glöckl, a German nuclear engineer, founded Aeris after seeing a common problem: his wife, a physiotherapist, noticed that her patients’ back pain improved after therapy — but would return after long office days on static chairs. Inspired, Josef set out to rethink sitting itself. Over five years of research, prototyping, and testing, he developed the Aeris Swopper, the world’s first 3D active-sitting chair, designed to move with the body in every direction.
